Corn Guy vs. Taco Lady
The "Food vs. Fuel" debate hits close to home for Corn Guy when he's forced into a confrontation with Taco Lady. But Corn Guy is willing to do just about anything to set the record straight, including - well, you'll see.
Disclaimer: Corn Guy is a paid spokescreature, given life to battle the many myths surrounding ethanol.

Eaten by Andrew Zimmern
An extremely short film, precisely described by the title.
Talk about bizarre foods.

Chambers Ice Bar
They say the Chambers ice bar is "first outdoor urban ice bar in the United States," perhaps inspired by the Absolut Ice Bar in Sweden. This ice bar has a nice open fire pit next to it. Fire and ice, Minnesota nice - I think there's a bad rap song here somewhere.
Disclaimer: I made this for the Chambers web site.
I'd hoped to post a "Director's Cut" of this video, where the manager talks about how some lady customers desire to imprint their bosoms on the ice bar. But alas, time is short, so let your imagination run wild.

Review: Chambers Kitchen
Chuck and Lorika are back on the restaurant review trail, starting with Chambers Kitchen. This is, hands-down, one of the best meals we've ever had. (Auriga, sadly closing this week, holds second place.)
Please note, this was done with my old camera which was sucky in low light conditions. From now on, these things will look pretty decent. My new camera rocks. Check out my latest MSP video featuring Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's Carson Kressley.

Tater Twat Hotdish
What do you get when you cross Charles Bukowski with Ze Frank? Genius. What you get is genius.
Duluth native John Holden does weird things at Detrimental Information, also the name of his zine. This video probably has what you'd call "explicit content." Yesterday we had a very woman-positive vibe on Minnesota Stories, and today - well, you just never know what's going to happen.
John writes: I show you how to make a tater tot/twat hotdish. I take one comment. And then it's the final episode of the Cathie and John Show. The music in this episode was composed by my cousin, Drew Doom.

Food Fun Finale: Uffda Treat
You thought the fair was over, did ya? Not until we hear from Karina one more time, as promised. The final Food Fun victor was the Uffda Treat. It's the perfect way to top off this fine series of interactive gastronomical video adventures.
I vote Karina goes vegan this week to counteract all those deep fried goodies.
Klaas has some state fair videos too, be sure to check out 3 girls and a horse. (Yes, it's safe for work.)

Review: Crema Café
It's been far too long since our last amateur restaurant review [The Bad Waitress, Dec. '05]. On a hot summer day after the Art Car Parade, we were in the mood for some quality ice cream. We ended up savoring some of the best homemade ice cream available anywhere: Sonny's ice cream at the Crema Café.
But wait! We also had some delicious, creamy portabella mushroom soup ($3.50/cup with toast) and Lori sipped a Cafe Crema, which is a mocha dollopped with ice cream. They also have yummy panini sandwiches. Lori recently returned for lunch and raved about their dill havarti grilled cheese, not to mention the green tea ice cream.
All in all, the food and cozy Euro-style environs make Crema Cafe one of our very favorite new places for lunch, coffee or dessert. We give it 10 thumbs-up.

Where's Your Food From?
Most of us aren't connected to our way of life. Even our basic necessities of food and clothing often come from far away places made by far away people. Carleton College senior Elizabeth Van Buren decided to design her final project around both her love of cooking and the environmental. Wouldn't it be great if you always knew where all the organic ingredients in your meal came from?
Vlog-maker Karina has the recipes, and word on the street is: Sustainability is delicious.

Review: The Bad Waitress
We're trying something new here at Minnesota Stories: Restaurant and café reviews. First up is the new coffee shop/breakfast joint from the owner of the Spyhouse coffee shop, The Bad Waitress. I have to say I love the pulp fiction-inspired name and logo. Overall we liked it, and we are especially happy they serve breakfast all day. Lori had a bit of bad spinach and found her omelette a bit thin on the goodies, but my scramble with was full of gooey gouda goodness.
We don't have a rating system per se, but Lori gave it "3.5 out of 5 whatevers" and I gave it "2.5 3

Turkey looks gross, doesn't it? I still eat it though, because it's tasty. I'm thankful for our abundance of food, and our warm house, and all the people in my life, and cameras and computers and the internets. I'm thankful for Chasing Windmills, the best new vlog around.

Mangos Y Chicharrón
Secrets of the city... we have an unlimited supply. Did you know that on certain lucky days, on a certain corner of Lake Street, a big-hearted Mexican lady named Rosa sells fresh seasoned mangos and chicharrón? It's true. The proof is in the vlog.
